Digital Ecology: Raising Awareness Online

Digital Skills for a More Sustainable Future

Project No. 2025-1-BG01-KA122-ADU-000342234
Erasmus+ Programme | KA122-ADU – Adult Education
Project period: 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026

The project “Digital Ecology: Raising Awareness Online” brings together two areas that are becoming increasingly important in our everyday lives – digital technologies and environmental responsibility.

The main idea of the project is not only to strengthen adult learners’ digital competences, but also to help them understand how digital technologies can be used as practical tools for learning, communication and promoting more sustainable lifestyles.

Through practical learning activities, international mobility and the creation of their own digital content, participants develop skills in digital storytelling, visual and multimedia content creation, social media communication, online campaign planning, critical thinking and fact-checking. These areas are also reflected in the practical educational resources developed within the project.

From Knowledge to Action

Practical learning is at the heart of the project.

Participants are not only recipients of information. They develop their own environmental messages, digital materials and campaign ideas, transforming newly acquired knowledge into practical results.

The project activities and resources cover:

  • digital ecology
  • environmental communication
  • digital storytelling
  • social media
  • visual content
  • short-form video
  • online campaigns
  • critical thinking
  • fact-checking
  • green digital practices

An important element of the learning process is the development of participant digital portfolios, containing practical work and at least three examples of digital content promoting ecological awareness.

International Learning and Exchange of Experience

As part of the project, a 10-day group mobility of adult learners was implemented in Přerov, Czechia.

The international mobility gave participants the opportunity to learn in a different environment, develop practical skills, exchange ideas and experiences, and interact with members and volunteers of the hosting organisation.

The learning programme combined structured learning with practical exercises, teamwork, digital content creation, environmental campaign development, discussions, reflection and peer learning.

The international environment contributed not only to the development of specific competences, but also to participants’ confidence, independence and motivation to continue learning and to take part in future European initiatives.

Our Project Results

A range of practical educational and dissemination resources were developed within the project, including the Digital Ecology Guide – Raising Awareness Online, the Participant Digital Portfolio & Workbook, three thematic environmental digital campaigns and a set of visual communication materials for websites and social media.

The three environmental digital campaigns focus on:

Break Free from Single-Use Plastic – encouraging practical alternatives to disposable plastic products;

Switch Off. Save Energy. – promoting energy awareness and responsible everyday digital habits;

Buy Better. Waste Less. – encouraging responsible consumption, reuse, repair, sharing and longer product life.

Together for Digital Ecology

The project demonstrates that digital technologies can be much more than communication tools. When used responsibly, they can help people learn, create, share reliable information and inspire positive environmental action.

Learn. Create. Share. Act.

This is the message we want the results of “Digital Ecology: Raising Awareness Online” to continue carrying beyond the end of the project.
