Digital Ecology: Raising Awareness Online
Project No. 2025-1-BG01-KA122-ADU-000342234
Erasmus+ Programme | KA122-ADU – Adult Education
Project period: 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026
“Digital Ecology: Raising Awareness Online” is an Erasmus+ adult education project designed to strengthen digital competences while increasing environmental awareness and encouraging more sustainable everyday practices.
Digital technologies have become an essential part of the way people learn, communicate and participate in society. At the same time, environmental challenges require greater awareness, reliable information and active involvement from individuals and communities.
The project connects these two areas by exploring how digital tools can be used responsibly, creatively and effectively to communicate environmental issues and encourage positive action.
Rather than treating digital competence and environmental education as separate topics, the project brings them together through practical adult learning.
Why Digital Ecology?
Digital ecology explores the relationship between people, digital technologies, information and the environment.
Digital tools provide powerful opportunities for environmental education. They can make complex information easier to understand, connect local initiatives with wider audiences, support online learning and participation, and help environmental messages reach communities quickly and effectively. At the same time, the use of digital technologies also requires responsible choices related to energy, devices, data and digital consumption.
The project therefore addresses two complementary questions:
How can digital technologies help people understand and act on environmental issues?
and
How can we use digital technologies in a more responsible and sustainable way?
Our Objectives
The project is built around two closely connected objectives:
- Empowering Adults with Digital Skills
The first objective is to strengthen adult learners’ confidence and practical ability to use digital technologies.
Participants develop competences in:
- digital content creation and visual communication;
- digital storytelling;
- social media communication;
- creation of infographics and short-form video;
- planning and managing online campaigns;
- critical thinking and fact-checking;
- online engagement and communication.
The emphasis is on learning by doing. Participants apply the tools and methods in practical activities rather than learning about digital technologies only in theory.
- Building Ecological Awareness and Sustainable Practices
The second objective is to increase participants’ understanding of environmental issues and encourage realistic sustainable practices that can be applied in everyday life.
The project explores environmental communication, responsible consumption, waste reduction, energy awareness, sustainable use of resources and green digital practices.
Participants also learn how to transform environmental knowledge into clear and engaging messages that can inspire other people to take action.
Together, the two objectives enable participants to use their newly developed digital skills for a meaningful purpose – raising ecological awareness online.
Who Is the Project For?
The project is designed for adult learners with different backgrounds, levels of experience and digital confidence.
A strong emphasis is placed on inclusion and equal access to learning opportunities, particularly for adults who may face barriers to participation.
The learning approach is designed to be accessible, practical and adaptable. Participants are encouraged to learn from trainers, from practical experience and from one another through teamwork and peer learning.
Our Learning Approach
The project combines international mobility, non-formal adult learning, practical exercises, teamwork, digital content creation and environmental communication.
The learning process covers topics such as:
- Digital Ecology
- Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Practices
- Digital Storytelling for Environmental Impact
- Visual Content and Infographics
- Video and Multimedia Content Creation
- Social Media for Environmental Awareness
- Digital Campaign Planning
- Critical Thinking and Fact-Checking
- Green Digital Practices
- Online Eco-Awareness Activities
Participants are encouraged to move from passive consumption of online information towards active, responsible and evidence-based digital communication.
European Cooperation and Learning
International cooperation is an important part of the project.
Through Erasmus+, participants have the opportunity to experience learning in an international environment, exchange perspectives and good practices, meet people from another European country and discover new approaches to adult education.
The project includes a group learning mobility in Přerov, Czechia, where practical digital learning is combined with environmental education, teamwork and intercultural exchange.
The cooperation also contributes to strengthening the capacity of the participating organisations to develop inclusive, practical, digitally oriented and environmentally responsible adult education activities.
Our Vision
We believe that digital competence is not only about knowing how to use technology.
It is also about knowing how to communicate responsibly, recognise reliable information, create meaningful content and use digital tools to contribute to society.
Environmental awareness is not only about understanding environmental problems. It is also about making informed choices and encouraging others to take realistic action.
“Digital Ecology: Raising Awareness Online” brings these ideas together – empowering adults to learn, create, communicate and act for a more sustainable future.
Learn. Create. Share. Act.
