Learning, Creating and Sharing in Přerov

As a central activity of “Digital Ecology: Raising Awareness Online”, a 10-day Group Mobility of Adult Learners was implemented in Přerov, Czechia.

The mobility created an international learning environment in which participants could develop practical digital competences while exploring environmental awareness, sustainable behaviour and responsible use of digital technologies.

The programme combined learning, practical exercises, teamwork, discussions, digital content creation and intercultural exchange. Its purpose was not simply to provide theoretical knowledge, but to enable participants to experiment with digital tools, create their own content and discover how digital communication can contribute to environmental awareness and community action. The project mobility was specifically designed as a structured 10-day learning programme combining environmental education with practical digital skills.

10 Days of Practical Learning

The learning programme was organised as a progressive journey – from understanding the concept of digital ecology to creating and presenting participants’ own digital environmental content and campaigns.

Day 1 – Welcome & Introduction to Digital Ecology

The mobility began with introductions, group activities and an exploration of the concept of digital ecology.

Participants discussed their own digital habits, environmental issues in their communities and the relationship between technology, communication and sustainability. A pre-training self-assessment was also used to identify their starting point.

Day 2 – Environmental Communication in the Digital World

Participants explored how an environmental problem can be transformed into a clear, understandable and action-oriented digital message.

They worked on identifying target audiences, defining key messages and developing realistic calls to action.

Day 3 – Digital Storytelling for Environmental Impact

The third day introduced digital storytelling as a powerful tool for environmental communication.

Participants learned how to combine facts, human stories and practical solutions to make sustainability topics more relatable and engaging. They developed short environmental stories and improved them through peer feedback.

Day 4 – Creating Social Media & Blog Content

Participants moved from ideas to actual digital communication.

They worked on social media messages, short blog-style content, calls to action and accessible online writing, developing content suitable for environmental awareness activities.

Day 5 – Infographics & Visual Communication

The focus shifted to visual communication.

Participants explored how information, verified facts, visual hierarchy and concise messages can be combined to create effective environmental infographics. Digital design tools such as Canva and equivalent platforms were used as part of the practical learning process.

Day 6 – Short Video & Digital Story Production

Participants learned how environmental messages can be communicated through short-form video and multimedia.

They worked with video concepts, storyboards, captions, accessibility and responsible use of images and media.

Day 7 – Building an Online Environmental Campaign

Individual digital outputs were brought together into more structured environmental awareness campaigns.

Participants worked on campaign goals, audiences, messages, communication channels and content planning, learning how separate posts and visual materials can become part of a coordinated campaign.

Day 8 – Critical Thinking, Fact-Checking & Campaign Monitoring

Responsible digital communication requires more than attractive content.

Participants learned how to verify environmental claims, check sources and context, recognise misleading information and consider appropriate indicators for evaluating online campaigns.

The activities also introduced concepts such as reach, engagement, shares, saves and qualitative feedback.

Day 9 – Green Digital Practices & Online Eco-Awareness

Digital sustainability became the focus of Day 9.

Participants explored practical ways to use technology more responsibly, including extending device life, reducing unnecessary digital consumption, using power-saving settings and adopting more sustainable everyday digital habits.

They also worked on ideas for online environmental awareness activities.

Day 10 – Presentation, Evaluation & Future Action

The final learning day brought the different elements of the programme together.

Participants presented their digital work and campaign ideas, exchanged feedback, reflected on their learning progress and completed their post-training self-assessment.

The final activities also encouraged participants to consider how they could use and share their new skills after returning home.

Learning by Creating

A key principle of the mobility was learning by doing.

Throughout the programme, participants worked on practical digital outputs related to environmental awareness, including:

social media and blog content • environmental stories • infographics and visual resources • short-video concepts • digital campaign ideas • fact-checking activities • green digital practices

The learning approach also encouraged participants to collect their work in digital portfolios and demonstrate how their newly acquired competences could be applied in real communication activities.

Inclusion, Teamwork and Intercultural Exchange

The mobility was also an opportunity for participants to learn with and from one another.

Teamwork, peer learning and active participation were encouraged throughout the programme. Different levels of previous digital experience became an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge, support one another and develop confidence in an informal international learning environment.

The experience went beyond the training room. Participants had opportunities to communicate and spend time with members and volunteers of the hosting organisation, take part in informal and outdoor activities and learn more about each other’s cultures and everyday lives.

These personal encounters became an important part of the mobility experience. New friendships were created, contacts continued after the mobility, and the international experience strengthened participants’ motivation to take part in future learning and European mobility opportunities.

From Mobility to Future Action

The end of the 10-day programme was not intended to be the end of the learning process.

The knowledge, digital materials and practical experience developed during the mobility can continue to be used in future learning activities, environmental initiatives and community communication.

Participants can share their experience and digital materials with others, apply more sustainable digital practices in everyday life and continue developing their role as digital eco-ambassadors in their communities.

Learn. Create. Share. Act.
